Home is the first place we come to after we are brought into this world.
For some of us, it may have even been where we were born.
But, Home is much more than just where we were born or where we come to first. And it’s much more than just where we live.
Home is where we build our lives from the ground up.
It’s where we share our reality with our Mom, Dad, Brothers and Sisters, and for some of us, a Dog and a Cat, too.
It’s also where Dinner awaits us upon the saying of Grace.
It’s where marriage is tested, tried, strengthened, and empowered.
It is where the family comes together to lay the foundation for tomorrow.
May our Homes be blessed this Christmas season, because Home is where we will be.
It’s where we learn to take our first step.
It’s where we learn to cook our first meal.
It’s where we learn how to talk.
It is where, whether we are sad or filled with joy, we are always welcomed.
It’s where we learn to study.
It’s where we first learn how to work on a team before we practice any sport.
It’s where we pick up our first guitar and strum the strings to find our beat.
It is where we pick up the mic, and sing our favorite song to find our inner rhythm.
It’s where we open our first journal and write our first word.
It’s where we come together for Dinner, the Holidays, and for Celebration of Life’s grandest moments.
It’s where we come together to cheer on our favorite team, or watch our favorite movie.
It is where we learn to train our puppy to shake a paw for his treat.
It’s where we tease our kittens with a ball of yarn.

It is where we first learn to talk about God.
It’s where we learn to read.
It’s where the bond between Father and Son and Daughter and Mother is strengthened.
It’s on a one acre plot of land on the countryside.
It is where there is no failure, only lessons learned.
It’s where we find comfort at the end of a long day’s work.
It’s where the quiet stillness and a calm breeze ground us in a moment of gratitude on an early Spring afternoon.
It’s where our inner child propels us to jump into the pile of leaves on a crisp, cool Autumn day.
It is where we give Thanksgiving.
It’s where we pray for our loved ones and for all of those in need.
It’s where Traditions are born, and where they are kept.
And it’s where our roots are instilled.
It is where Mom and Dad gift their Sons and Daughters with their presence, not presents.
It’s where Grandpa doesn’t let go of us with his bear hugs.
And it’s where Grandma spoils us with her homemade cookies.
It’s where the flag of this great country is on display for the world to see.
It is where the piano in the living room invites a soothing elegance and a harmonious melody.

It’s where we create memories that will last a Lifetime.
It is where we reminisce over a Memorial Day bonfire and a 4th of July fireworks show.
It’s where we learn how to be a Brother or a Sister.

It’s where Brothers and Sisters grow a bond that can never be unbound.
It is where, when we put our head down at the end of the day, we rest easy knowing that we are there.
